Al Gore is an American green hero. He served as the Vice-President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. He was always interested in environmental issues. He is the author of “Earth in the Balance”. He starred in “An Inconvenient Truth”, a documentary about global warming and what it may do to our home, the Earth if we don't do anything to solve the climate crisis. He also wanted the Kyoto Protocol to be passed, but the Senate refused.

Al Gore has also won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, which was shared by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, headed by Rajendra K. Pachauri (Delhi, India). The award was given

"for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change".

He also represented the US in the Climate Change Conference, held in Bali. He travels around the world speaking and participating in events to raise awareness on global warming. He’s a real Green Hero!
