This website was created by P.G.L. students with contributions from kids in our board. We realized we didn't know too much about Canadian authors that write for children and we figured we should make that a project for this year. And we sure learned tons!  P.G.L. stands for Program for Gifted Learners. It consists of students ranging from Grade 4 to Grade 6. There are about  100 of us from 20 different schools coming to the Program once a week.  On the upper right corner, we have Puggler our mascot. We come from a lot of different communities and schools in Ottawa , Ontario, Canada. We love to read. We are always with our noses in a book and when we go to PGL from our home schools,  there is one activity that we really like- USSR. No, this is not a country, but stands for Uninterrupted Sustained Silent Reading. For 15 minutes we all stop and read and read. Frequently our teacher has a bit of  trouble getting us to change our activity, because we just would LOVE to keep on reading.  We have been working on this project for a long time . We are very proud of our website and how it's turned out. We hope you will be inspired to learn more about the great authors we have for kids in Canada!
