Biography:

Michael Bedard was the first born of 5 children. He was born on June 26,1949. He was raised and educated in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Now he has a wife, Martha, and also he has 4 kids Isaac, Rebekah, Kiresten and Zoe. He still lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Why he became a writer:

Michael Bedard knew he wanted to become a writer when he discovered poetry at the age of 17 because his teacher was mad about poetry. Then he discovered a few people like T.S Eliot,  Emily Dickinson and William Blake and he was inspired by them. His first book was called Woodsedge. Michael Bedard writes 4 to 5 hours a day depending on his inspiration.

Types of books:

 Michael Bedard writes realistic fiction with some mystery and fantasy too.. He writes books based on people. You can read  my review of his book, Painted Devil.

Achievements/Awards:

He has won quite a few awards such as the Canadian Library Association Book of the Year for Children and the Governor General's Award.
