Gordon Korman

Biography:

Gordon Korman was born in Montreal, Quebec on October 23, 1963. He has a wife and two children. He now splits his time in New York , Toronto , and Florida. He wrote his first book in the 7th grade. He sent it to Scholastic  Books with the address on the bottom of an Arrow book club order. Scholastic then accepted his book. After that he wrote a book every summer.  Gordon went to New York`s University Dramatic Writing Program and graduated.

 

Why he became a writer:

Gordon never had any intention to be a writer. Gordon`s first book This Can`t be Happening at Macdonald Hall was written in the 7th grade for a project. The character Mr. Huge in another one of his books The Sixth Grade Nickname Game was based on his 7th grade teacher. Gordon has written about  44  books. 

Types of books:

Ever since the first book Gordon wrote he has been writing fiction books as well as some adult fiction books .My favourite book by Gordon is Why Did the Underwear Cross the Road?The first book I read was The Chicken Doesn`t Skate. Read my review of his book the Twinkie Squad .

Achievements/Awards:

Gordon Korman has gotten the Mr.Christie Book of the Year on many of his books.Gordon is the youngest author ever to have his first book published.His series Monday Night Football is what the popular tv series called The Jersey is based on.
