Joan Fitzgerald McCurdy

Biography:

Joan Fitzgerald McCurdy was born in PEI , Canada. Her previous jobs include a documentary film writer and a lawyer. She lives in Ottawa, Ontario with her husband and her son. 

Why she became a writer:

As teenager, Joan read the Lord of the Rings and loved it! She was inspired and decided to become a writer. 

Types of books:

Joan writes fantasies with humour, action and a bit of gore. Her books include: "The Serpents Egg", "The Burning Crown", and "The Twisted Blade". She is currently working on a new trilogy called "The Mole Wars". You can read a review of her book The Burning Crown .

Achievements/Awards:

All of her first books were national bestsellers, and hopefully the "Mole Wars" trilogy will be too! She is Canada's Rowling!
