  • I learned that you have to be very quiet when someone is recording.
  • I learned how to make pictures with the computer. It was hard!
  • I learned that you need to do a rough copy before you can do your work"in good"
  • I learned that you have to make your pictures colourful.
  • I learned how to make a shape by dabbing the paintbrush.
  • I laughed at the silly animals in Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing.
  • I learned about telling time.
  • I learned how to spell some new words.
  • I learned that your voice is really loud if you stand too close to the microphone.
  • My favourite book was Witch, Witch because the pictures are so cool.
  • I learned how to make rhymes.
  • I made a connection with It Looked Like Spilt Milk. It reminded me of when I look at the clouds in the summer.

 

These Grade 1 expectations in Language and the Arts were addressed:

  • produce short pieces of writing using simple forms
  • write simple sentences, using proper punctuation
  • read aloud in a way that communicates the meaning
  • use some materials from other media to enhance their writing
  • create simple media works
  • produce two-dimensional pieces of art that communicate thoughts and feelings
  • make artistic choices in their work, using at least one of the elements of design specified for this grade
  • use ICT across the curriculum, as a tool in writing and illustrating stories
