Jennie Trout

Entering a Man's World

By:Adam G.
Gr.6 St. Martin de Porres
Ottawa,Ontario

Field:Medical Science

Date of Birth:April 21, 1841-1921

Accomplishments:

Jennie Trout pursued a career in medicine even though she was a
woman, because in that time men dominated medical science. She became the first
Canadian female doctor, paving the way for many female doctors to come.

Why I Admire This Person:

I admire this person because she tried and succeeded in
letting women become doctors, thus lessening the domination of men in that profession.
I admire her determination and courage in doing something that was not allowed
at that time.
