Minnekhada Middle School in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia

Dear Schools Demining Schools:

Hello! The students of Division Eleven (Heaven Eleven) have been busy! We've researched the landmines issue, organized resources, written speeches, and given 23 presentations locally (most to student and parent groups). We have just decided what to put in our press kit, and are going to blitz the media next week.

As for fundraising, we started by just collecting bottles and cans for refunds. We brought in over 4000 cans so far (over $200), and have just run a logo contest. The winning logo (Students Against Landmines) will be printed on t-shirts that cost us $6. We will be charging $11 (of course) and if we sell all 144, we will raise over $700. Together with our bottle money, we would have paid to remove three landmines. If others try the t-shirt idea, or other schools would like to trade us a school shirt for one of our landmines shirts, we'd be thrilled. Please post this message to anyone involved in the campaign, and we hope to hear from schools who'd like to work together with us.

Thanks a bunch!
Mr. Baker and the students of Heaven Eleven (all 28 of them)
